Summary Between Innovation and Responsibility - Artificial Intelligence in Systemic Counseling The article examines the field of tension between innovation and responsibility in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in systemic counseling. Based on current application contexts, it illustrates how AI can be used in systemic counseling and which decisions must be made when considering its potential implementation. At the same time, AI is increasingly becoming a co-shaper of processes in our everyday world and can no longer be understood solely as a technical tool. In relation to counseling, a shift in professional roles is taking place: practitioners take on new tasks such as interpreting AI-generated results, while questions of responsibility, liability, and ethical decision-making gain importance. Opportunities such as increased efficiency, evidence-based decision-making, and relief from routine tasks are contrasted with risks, including bias and discrimination, data protection issues, the dehumanization of social relationships, and a lack of standards for the professional use of AI. Current debates have so far paid little attention to social science perspectives on digital participation, sustainability, ecological costs, as well as issues of labor and educational justice. Finally, the article offers an outlook on the competencies required of systemic counselors in the age of AI, combining critical media literacy, ethical reflexivity, and structural systems knowledge to enable a common-good-oriented, responsible, and inclusive use of AI in systemic counseling.
