Cartilages breakdown due to disease results in a severe pain and disability. A new approach has recently appeared: implantation of the autologous chondrocytes and construction of artificial cartilages based on seeding of autologous chondrocytes on biodegradable artificial scaffolds. Our preliminary studies suppose to finish preparation of several types of suitable composite biodegradable scaffolds based on non-woven nanofibres in combination with liposomes. The main goal of this proposal is to develop the nanofibrous scaffolds with various liposomes in nanofibres, and to control their opening with ultrasound wavelengths. Our proposal is concentrated on: 1. Development of liposome nanofibres and methods for liposome opening both in vitro and in vivo 2.Preparation of biodegradable scaffolds from liposome nanofibres for tissue engineering 3. Production of artificial cartilage from autologous chondrocytes based on new types of scaffolds
