POLICE ETHICS AND INTEGRITY AS THE FOUNDATION OF PROFESSIONAL POLICING AND THE CONTEMPORARY SECURITY CHALLENGES OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Police ethics and integrity are essential values for professional, lawful and responsible policing, especially in conditions of accelerated technological development and application of artificial intelligence in the security sector. Modern technologies and systems based on artificial intelligence offer significant opportunities for improving police activities, but at the same time open up serious ethical, legal and security dilemmas. The aim of this paper is to analyze the significance of police ethics and professional integrity in the context of contemporary security challenges related to the development and use of artificial intelligence. The paper elaborates on the basic principles of police ethics, the significance of integrity in the conduct of police officers, as well as the risks of possible misuse of modern technologies, excessive surveillance, violation of privacy, algorithmic bias and cyber threats. Special attention is paid to the need to establish clear ethical standards, legal regulations and control mechanisms for the use of artificial intelligence in policing. The paper suggests that human integrity, professional responsibility and respect for human rights must remain key principles even in the face of technological transformation of the security sector.
