This paper develops a conceptual framework for understanding long-term adaptive persistence in complex systems under continuous adaptive pressure. Rather than interpreting collapse primarily as disorder or instability, the framework proposes that structural collapse may be more productively understood as the progressive contraction of accessible future-state geometry. Drawing on dynamical systems theory, resilience research, control theory, information geometry, and non-equilibrium systems thinking, the paper introduces the complementary concepts of structural compression and generator openness. Structural compression describes the reduction of reachable future trajectories and effective adaptive dimensionality, whereas generator openness denotes configurations that preserve modular recombination capacity, branching trajectory accessibility, and distributed adaptive response structure. The framework is explicitly observer-relative and treats accessibility not as a universal invariant scalar, but as a family of system-dependent measures conditioned by observation geometry, perturbation class, and embedding. The contribution is conceptual and hypothesis-generating rather than predictive or law-like. Illustrative interpretations are discussed across evolutionary biology, ecology, institutional systems, organizational dynamics, and artificial systems. The paper further connects these ideas to earlier work on projection-based detectability and observer-relative critical information.
